What you can expect: 

The Boise Endoscopy Department sees all adult and pediatric cases for multiple types of procedures. Our downtown campus is the Advance Center for ERCP and EUS, EBUS procedures for the St Luke system in the Treasure Valley. Along with these procedures we are also experienced in Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, EGDs both urgent and emergent cases as well as elective cases. Our nurses are well rounded providing care in pre-op, Intra-op and post-op management.

 

The Assistant Nurse Manager duties would include: TASS (approving timecards, logging absenteeism, and creating schedules), will work as main charge two shifts per week and will manage daily oversight of frontline staff (charge nursing),  coordinating procedure schedule, staff assignments and coordinating with other disciplines to care for complex endoscopy patients, plus others responsibilities including: Bluesight- for narcotic discrepancies, Symplr/ NPR’s- new product/ supply approvals, Charge Capture, ECRI’s- supply/ equipment recalls, Dosimetry Badges- Radiation safety management, Timecard approvals each pay period, Manage and respond to questions surrounding the schedule, vacation requests, LOAs, and gaining extra help when short staffed, perioperative/ chart  audits, and review and management of departmental budget. 


Being the "manager on call" on some weekends- Alternating with manager, performing annual reviews for staff and giving corrective actions, when necessary, reviewing employee injury incidences, reviewing/ reconciling narcotic discrepancies, performing 30, 60, 90 day check ins with manager and submitting "new product requests" and doing some ordering of supplies. The department has about 30 FTE. 

 

Schedule: 1.0 FTE- Exempt- Monday to Friday. Some weekend call required for this leadership role. 

 

Job Description Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience: 3 years nursing experience. Position requires at least 1 year recent or current RN in Endoscopy
  • Advanced endoscopy preferred (i.e. EUS, EBUS, and ERCP)
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License required and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
