What You Can Expect:
- 2026-2027 Academic Year Athletic Training Resident
-The Athletic Training Resident is a post-graduate athletic training position, participating in a clinical residency, which provides athletic training services under the supervision of attending physician staff and athletic training staff.
-Complete all planned resident clinical and didactic educational programming. Including but not limited to operating room assist, interventional and diagnostic ultrasound, and musculoskeletal radiology interpretation curricula and programming. Research responsibilities include but not limited to preparation and presentations of; question of the week, case studies, and submission of presentation at an orthopedic/sports medicine conference or manuscript in a peer review journal.
-Under general supervision and direction provide patient care.
-Participate in educational program development, and community service activities.
-Uses preventative measures appropriately; provide standard immediate care procedures used in emergency situations; clinical evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning.
-Order diagnostic studies or other referrals under the direction of the supervising physician, including but not limited to, radiographs, MRI's, EMG studies, CT scans, ultrasounds, rehabilitation referrals, physician referrals, and appropriate medication prescriptions.
-Aid the physician in preparing patients for injections that will be performed by the attending physician. Preparations include cleaning and disinfecting the area to be injected and preparing materials to be utilized both prior to and after the injection.
-Dictation and documentation of each patient visit following guidelines outlined in the dictation template.
-Assists with incoming patient problem calls and outside physician or health care staff questions.
-Consults with the triage personnel in determining the appropriate level of care for cast related questions and scheduling appointments.
-Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in athletic training.
- Experience: 0 years experience
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer the State of practice within 90 days of employment. Board of Certification (BOC) certified.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
