Support Safe, Coordinated Care—From the First Visit Forward
At St. Luke’s Health System, our LPNs and CMAs are essential members of the perioperative care team. In this role, you will support pre-operative consults and internal medicine exams, where each patient visit is typically a one-time consult and every patient is new. Your work ensures patients are fully prepared and providers have the information they need to deliver high-quality care.
This position is ideal for a clinically strong, detail-oriented professional who enjoys a balance of direct patient care, chart preparation, and administrative coordination.
Schedule 4 ten-hour shifts per a week
7:00 am to 5:30 pm
What You’ll Do
Patient Care & Clinical Support
Room patients for pre-op consults and internal medicine evaluations
Obtain and document vital signs
Collect a complete medical history and perform medication reconciliation
Provide clinical support to providers during patient visits within scope
Chart Preparation & Records Management
Prepare charts prior to scheduled visits
Review medical records, outside documentation, and prior results
Confirm provider orders and visit readiness
Scan and index external records into the EMR
Administrative & Coordination Duties
Manage referral work queues and review incoming referrals
Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits
Coordinate referrals with internal and external departments
Ensure accurate, timely documentation to support safe care delivery
Patient Experience & Team Collaboration
Deliver a high-touch, patient-centered experience in a highly patient-facing role
Communicate clearly with patients regarding visit expectations and next steps
Work closely with providers, nurses, and clinic leadership
Required Licensure & Certification
Candidates must meet one of the following credential pathways:
For Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
Current, active Idaho LPN license (or compact license eligible for Idaho)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent
For Certified Medical Assistant (CMA):
Active Medical Assistant certification from a nationally recognized organization, including:
CMA (AAMA)
RMA (AMT)
NCMA (NCCT)
CCMA (NHA)
Other certifications accepted per St. Luke’s Health System policy
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent
