St. Luke’s Health System, a nonprofit organization in Idaho‘s largest health system, seeks a Treasure Valley Surgical Services Medical Director. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer of St. Luke’s Boise, this role has shared accountability with the surgical services service line administrator for development, design, and execution of surgical services vision and strategy for the St. Luke’s Health System.
The surgical services medical Director will align and work collaboratively with service lines, including Neurosciences, Women’s, Oncology, Heart and vascular, Surgical subspecialties, and Children’s, along with leaders from nursing, anesthesia, and St. Luke’s leadership to promote and develop optimal services. This includes a focus on strategy, peri-operative efficiency, quality, safety, culture, and service excellence.
The medical director is responsible for oversight, supporting, and innovating with existing and new programs that will drive the best possible outcomes at the lowest total cost of care and for facilitating standardization and variation reduction efforts across the treasure valley within surgical services.
*Expectation to maintain at least a part-time clinical practice while performing the job duties of this role.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine or Osteopathy and successful completion of an accredited residency program
- Experience: At least 3 years of clinical practice required. Demonstration of progressive leadership roles within healthcare organization(s). Medical group leadership experience strongly preferred, including experience in recruiting, hiring, organizing, compensating, and managing physician/providers
- Licenses/Certifications: 1) Membership as a licensed physician (MD or DO) on St. Luke’s Medical Staff. 2) Maintain Board Certification within specialty
