We are currently hiring for a Nursing Supervisor at Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program! 


What You Can Expect:



As the SANE Nursing Supervisor, you will lead a specialized team of 10–12 Registered Nurses providing 24/7/365 on-call coverage for sexual assault and domestic violence patients throughout the East Treasure Valley. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice, nursing leadership, education, quality improvement, and community partnership in a highly specialized program.

You will:

  • Lead and support a specialized SANE RN team through onboarding, training, ongoing education, competency development, coaching, and day-to-day clinical guidance.
  • Coordinate 24/7/365 on-call coverage, including maintaining the team schedule and participating in the call rotation yourself. The Nursing Supervisor will work a minimum of five 12-hour shifts per month as part of the clinical call rotation.
  • Provide forensic nursing care as part of the SANE team, conducting sexual assault and domestic violence forensic medical examinations.
  • Work primarily from the Ada County Victim Services Center in Boise, while supporting care at multiple locations, including the Ada County Victim Services Center, St. Luke’s Boise Emergency Department, St. Luke’s Meridian Emergency Department, and Saint Alphonsus Boise Emergency Department.
  • Build strong partnerships within the health systems and with government and community partners.
  • Lead quality improvement and quality assurance activities, ensuring the program maintains high standards of patient care and follows SANE best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate quarterly SANE Peer Review meetings and identify opportunities for ongoing education, training, and competency development for the RN team and community partners.
  • Monitor program data and statistics and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Environment of Care requirements and Joint Commission (TJC) standards, as well as established SANE program practices.
  • Represent the program in the community through outreach, education, and prevention activities focused on increasing awareness of sexual assault and domestic violence.
  • Participate in legal proceedings when needed, including providing court testimony related to patient care in which you were directly involved.


About the Program:
The Ada County Community SANE Program is a collaborative program between St. Luke’s and Saint Alphonsus, providing specialized forensic nursing services across the community. The Nursing Supervisor works closely with both health systems and community partners to ensure patients receive compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care.


Qualifications:

  •  Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
  • Experience: 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed SANE specific training  and/or conducted SANE exams in the past.
  • Previous nursing leadership
  • Previous experience in L&D, emergency room care, and/or critical care is a plus.
