What You Can Expect:

The Patient Financial Navigator Senior works closely with patients to screen and connect them to financial resources. This role is responsible for making decisions based on internal & external program policies, utilizing confidential financial & health information from both the facility & patients to assess eligibility for government programs, pharmaceutical assistance, & financial programs.

  • Work closely with patients, providers, case managers, social workers, pharmacy, nurses, and clinics to facilitate access to external financial resources available to pay for healthcare, treatments & medications 
  • Interact directly with patients by providing financial resource support in hospital settings, oncology clinics, outpatient clinics, infusion centers, & financial business offices. 
  • Create and provide complex estimates for procedures and services. Explain financial responsibilities and available resources to patients. 
  • Coordinate insurance and appeals by clarifying coverage and resolving discrepancies. May also assist patients with appeals for denied claims when necessary. 
  • Manage escalated patient financial concerns & provide financial resolution strategies
  •  Assist Patients & Families with Pharmaceutical Programs to ensure compliance with manufacturer enrollment for co-pay assistance, patient enrollment and other assistance programs. 
  • Actively participates in public presentations, case review meetings, interdisciplinary committees, and task forces. 
  • Performs advanced and/or complex duties requiring independent decisions and extensive, diversified professional experience and knowledge. 
  • Serves as a role model, mentor, trainer and/or resource to coworkers. 
  • Maintains and improves quality results by adhering to standards and guidelines; recommends improved procedures. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 2 years relevant experience
