Pharmacy Technician – Clinic Based GLP-1 Medication Authorization

St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a Medication Authorization Specialist to support our clinic-based GLP‑1 program in Meridian, Idaho. This role partners directly with providers and patients to ensure timely access to GLP‑1 therapies, helping patients navigate insurance requirements and medication access.
In this position, you will work closely with GLP‑1 patients, providers, and payers to remove barriers to care and support positive treatment outcomes in a clinic setting.
About the Role
This position supports patients receiving GLP‑1 therapies by managing prior authorizations, coordinating medication access, and providing direct support within the clinic. You will play a key role in ensuring patients can access and continue their treatment without delays.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate insurance prior authorizations for GLP‑1 medications under the pharmacy benefit
- Work directly with providers, clinic staff, and payers to resolve authorization barriers
- Support GLP‑1 patients by coordinating medication access and navigating insurance requirements
- Track,monitor, and follow up on pending authorizations to ensuretimelyapprovals
- Maintainaccuratedocumentation and ensure compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with internal teams and dispensing pharmacies to support continuity of care

What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and triage patient and provider inquiries, escalating asappropriate.
- Support clinic and pharmacy staff through Microsoft Teams and other communication platforms.
- Assistwith appointment coordination, including rescheduling as needed.
- Support home delivery pharmacy operations by confirming patient and medication details for dispensing.
- Conduct technician-led patient visits under established protocols, documenting interactions accurately.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and care teams to support efficient and coordinated patient care.
- Participate in the ongoing development and refinement of thePharmaFittechnician role and workflows.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Idaho Pharmacy Technician License
- Two (2) + years' experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a clinic or patient access setting
