Unit Overview

 

At our Meridian Hospital, our Women’s Unit delivers comprehensive, evidence‑based care to patients throughout their postpartum recovery. Our postpartum nurses are highly skilled in supporting new mothers and newborns following delivery, providing education, clinical assessment, and compassionate care during this critical transition. The team expertly manages routine and high‑risk postpartum needs, monitors maternal and infant well‑being, and collaborates closely with multidisciplinary providers to ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes for every family.


The unit fosters a strong team culture built on collaboration, mutual support, and shared accountability. Nurses are encouraged to pursue ongoing professional development through education, specialty certification, and participation in shared governance and quality initiatives. What you can expect from this role

  • Full Time and Part Time nights available (7:00p-7:30a)
  • Additional PTO hours for night shift employees
  • Certification pay for national certifications (e.g., C-EFM, RNC-OB)
  • 10-bed labor unit and 10-bed postpartum unit
  • 125 births/month
  • 4 triage rooms
  • 2 dedicated OR suites on floor with 3 recovery bays
  • Continued education/certification opportunities
  • Adhere to AWHONN standard staffing ratios 


Qualifications 

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Nursing Degree
  • Experience:  1+ years of RN experience; currently seeking postpartum/mother-baby experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red
