Description & Requirements

Accredited by the College of American Pathologists' Accreditation and Laboratory Improvement Program, St. Luke's Laboratory services are central to patient care delivery, clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and system growth strategy. 

 

The Senior Director, Laboratory Services leads the Laboratory Centers of Excellence (COE), Core Lab operations, and system-wide laboratory strategy while advancing standardization, accreditation readiness, operational excellence, culture alignment, and integration across multiple hospitals, ambulatory sites, and enterprise initiatives. This role drives performance, modernizes practice, fosters collaboration, and ensures laboratory services are positioned as a critical clinical, operational, and financial strategic asset for the health system. This role intentionally elevates laboratory leadership to a senior system level to ensure continuity through leadership transition, reduce operational risk, and build the next-generation laboratory operating model for St. Luke’s Health System.

 

Key areas of focus are:

  • Growth of the Lab Center of Excellence (COE) model and the System Core Lab
  • Increased integration with system service lines, outpatient growth, and ambulatory care strategy
  • Expansion of regulatory and accreditation requirements including CAP, CLIA, and specialty testing oversight
  • Development of new diagnostic and testing capabilities supporting population health, specialty programs, and emerging clinical services
  • Increased system standardization initiatives and operational alignment across regions
  • Integration with Consolidated Service Center workflows and system supply chain strategy
  • Strategic leadership alignment between lab operations, clinical programs, finance, and system growth initiatives
     

 Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10 Years’ Experience
  • Current Laboratory Certification through ASCP or AMT
