Description & Requirements

As an Infection Preventionist, you will be a vital part of our dedicated team, working under direct supervision to implement infection prevention programs and practices tailored to our specific settings and populations served.

 

What You Can Expect as an Infection Preventionist at St. Luke’s:

  • Implement infection prevention programs and practices specific to the practice settings and populations served.
  • Apply basic knowledge of the risk assessment concept and its importance to the infection prevention program.
  • Assist in designing and presenting educational programs to enhance infection prevention.
  • Apply standard methods and surveillance criteria for identifying healthcare-associated infections; ensure that patient care and other activities comply with OSHA, Public Health, CDC, and applicable industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in healthcare settings, such as:

  • Infection Prevention
  • Epidemiologist/Public Health
  • Healthcare settings:  Inpatient, Post-Acute, or Ambulatory
  • Microbiology or Laboratory background 

Certifications Preferred: a-IPC, CIC, LTC-CIP

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors + 0 years (0)
  • Associates +2 years (2)
  • HSD + 4 years (4)
  • GED + 4 years (4)
  • Previous infection prevention experience strongly desired
