Description & Requirements

Join our team at Capital City Family Medicine, where we provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse community. As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a key role in supporting vulnerable and complex patient populations, including transgender patients receiving gender-affirming care, refugees, individuals experiencing homelessness, and patients with significant mental health challenges. We are seeking caring, empathetic professionals who are passionate about helping others and committed to delivering inclusive, high-quality care.


Schedule: Opportunities available from 0.7 to 0.9 FTE. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Schedules vary by role and provider assignment and may include four 9-hour shifts, evening clinic coverage, flexible scheduling, and occasional weekend rotations.


What You Can Expect:

  • Provide direct patient care and clinical support, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with procedures, administering medications within scope of practice, and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Coordinate care and serve as a patient advocate for vulnerable and complex patient populations, helping patients navigate healthcare services, referrals, follow-up care, and community resources.
  • Support population health initiatives through panel management, quality metric monitoring, care gap closure, and other quality improvement activities.
  • Collaborate closely with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to promote continuity of care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Deliver compassionate, inclusive, and culturally sensitive care while building trusting relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

 

CMA Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Certifications

  • Current BLS-CPR Certification from the American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current recognized National Certification as a Medical Assistant from one of the following: NCCT, NAHP, AMT, AAMA, AMCA, or NHA

LPN Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from a Licensed Practical Nursing Program

Certifications

  • Current BLS-CPR Certification from the American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current Licensed Practical Nuse (LPN) licensure in the State of Practice
